HOLA PEEPS!

WHOA! What a week i tell you it has been for me! Before I talk about movies, lets begin with the main reason I haven’t update my blog for like a week. Sabahan Bloggers Gathering 2008 aka SBG 2008. As I mentioned in my previous post, this was the one event that will give me sleepless nights as I’ll be working together with my team of organizers(photo above - Fara, me, Jacquelin, Wei Chuen, Daniel Franklin Gomez, Emelda Vincent, Papa Joneh and Julian) and others that are involved to make it a success. And I must say, what a success it became!

The event was held last Saturday on 2nd of August 2008 at Imperial International Hotel. SBG 2008 is all about having sabahan bloggers to gather and mingle while enjoying an eventful night filled with great food, singing performances and prize giveaways with a hint of fun activities to get the bloggers into action. I was looking forward to this night not just to see all the hard work of the team paid off but also to meet fellow bloggers that I never met before. Unfortunately, I had very little time to mingle as I was always running around making sure everything is in order. Yes folks, if you were there and saw a tall zombie looking guy always moving around here and there and helping out with presenting prizes, that would be me. Nevertheless I still got my chance to at least say hi to a few people. Check out these cool photos of me and some of the people i met taken during the event.

This is Rainer. He performed during SBG 2008 with his band Locust Day Dream. I’m holding the paper containing notes that I had to run through with him for a skit he’ll be involved later on that night. Rainer, you did great dude!

Edgar is the man! He brought over his new Canon 450D SLR camera and took like 400plus photos that night. Insane!

Me next to my buddy George with the lucky blogger who won himself a Canon digital camera. The ladies are Fara(in blue) and DJ Selina(black) and were the hosts of the night. Great job you two!

I didn’t really get to eat. But i managed to get a scoop of ice cream from Veda Blu. Next to me is my brother from a different mother Wei Chuen who was busy taking photos that night.

No, this is not a photo during the event. I had to put it in though because of Louis Pang(sunglasses on the head). International award winning photographer who is also a blogger and guest celebrity during the event. A truly humble inspiring person who I wished i had spent time more to chat with during the event.

Chris aka Decipher! The man, the legend. He was in charge of the sound system and also a band member of Locust Day Dream. Dude, didn’t manage to get a photo with you but you rock! I owe you one buddy!

As some of you might already know, I usually take video footages during events but this time i left all the work to my buddy Jack. Yup, I was too busy making sure the event is a-ok. Regardless, I managed to edit the footages Jack took and made a few videos. Check them out…

On behalf of myself and the rest of the team, many thanks to those who came. The support from bloggers, sponsors and performers was tremendous. Team, you guys are awesome! Bloggers, you all were the main reason why such an event exists! Sponsors, the support provided has been amazing! Performers, you guys truly rocked the night! Altogether, there were over 150 plus peeps who were involed with this event. Up till now, rave reviews kept pouring in as the event also gained respect, support and confidence from the great Nuffnang(Asia’s first blog advertising community).

Ok, now back to movies. Since yesterday, I’ve at least managed to post up a few movies that will be showing this week. I highly recommend you peeps to watch 21 and Rogue. Forgetting Sarah Marshall is awesome but this originally R rated movie might be censored a lot in Malaysia. And yes, I do know Shaolin Girl should be the main highlight of the week but reviews of those who watched the movie hasn’t been good. If you’re planning to watch it anyway, please do so with low expectation. And I know that it is hard to do so especially if you’re a fan of Shaolin Soccer.
